can somebody please post step by step instruction.... for connecting to internet...

i m using wifi
backtrack 3
 
i am able to connect to the wi-fi network.. even i am gettng the dynamic ip-address tht is given by the ISP... but still unable to browse any thing.....

Trying pinging/traceroute google.com . Whats the output? and also ipconfig...check if you have any dns ip's, maybe you have to manually assign them.

for ping ... network unreachabel...
for iwconfig.. i m gettng the ip address given by isp... for wlan0..

whn i m tryng to ping my ip.. 172.16.130.90.... its working...
on any other host say 172.16.130.91... not working

i hv tried ifconfig wlan0 up.... but nothing happened

also.. i m using live cd of bt 3.......

need help guys....

Ok, just copy paste the outcome/result of followings:

1. ifconfig
2. iwconfig
3. route -n
4. cat /etc/resolv.conf
5. Tell me whether # ping 4.2.2.2 is working or not.
