As most of us already know, Mozilla Firefox has beaten Internet Explorer and reached on the top of  all the browsers.  I have seen many many people using Mozilla Firefox just because they were told that it is better then Internet Explorer, but when I asked them what is so good in Firefox then they had no answer. They were just using it because they were told. Lately, after I started using Firefox,  it actually helped me a lot to be more productive. There are lots of addons and themes which actually saves time for few tasks and gives you a killer looking browser.

So here I am listing 15 Firefox addons which I think are the best for Penetration Testing & Web Developing purposes.

——————————————————
1.  Server Spy 0.1.6 by Christophe Jacquet:-

Server Spy indicates what brand of HTTP server (e.g. Apache, IIS, etc.) runs on the visited sites. When a tab is selected, the corresponding server name is shown on the right-hand side of the browser’s status bar.

2.  View Cookies 1.9 by Edwin martin:-

It adds a tab to the Page Info dialog box, which shows the cookies belonging to the current page.
——————————————————
3. Tamper Data by Adam Judson:-

Use tamperdata to view and modify HTTP/HTTPS headers and post parameters.. Widely used addon to hack online games and to manipulate amount when you are purchasing something online. I have made few videos in past about temper data.

4. Firebug 1.4.3 by Joe Hewitt:-

Firebug integrates with Firefox to put a wealth of development tools at your fingertips while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page.
——————————————————
5. Modify Headers 0.6.6 by Gareth Hunt:-

Add, modify and filter http request headers. You can modify the user agent string, add headers to spoof a mobile request (e.g. x-up-calling-line-id) and much more. Take a look at the help tab of the Modify Headers window.

6. XSS Me 0.4.3 by Security Compass:-

Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) is a common flaw found in todays web applications. XSS flaws can cause serious damage to a web application. Detecting XSS vulnerabilities early in the development process will help protect a web application from unnecessary flaws. XSS-Me is the Exploit-Me tool used to test for reflected XSS vulnerabilities.

7.  SQL Inject Me 0.4.4 by Security Compass:-

SQL Injection vulnerabilites can cause a lot of damage to a web application. A malicious user can possibly view records, delete records, drop tables or gain access to your server. SQL Inject-Me is Firefox Extension used to test for SQL Injection vulnerabilities.

8. HackBar 1.4.2 by Johan Adriaans:-

Nice & Simple security audit / Penetration test tool. This toolbar will help you in testing sql injections, XSS holes and site security.
It is NOT a tool for executing standard exploits and it will NOT teach you how to hack a site. Its main purpose is to help a developer do security audits on his code. If you know what your doing, this toolbar will help you do it faster. If you want to learn to find security holes, you can also use this toolbar, but you will probably also need a book, and a lot of google Smiley

9. XML Developer Toolbar 0.2 by Scott Root ||:-

Finally, a toolbar modeled after Chris Pederick’s WebDeveloper toolbar, that allows XML Developer’s use of standard tools all from your browser!

10. Web Developer 1.1.8 by chrispederick:-

The Web Developer extension adds a menu and a toolbar with various web developer tools.

11.  QuickJava 0.4.2.1 by Doug G:-

Allows quick enable and disable of Java and Javascript from the status bar.
——————————————————
12.  User Agent Switcher 0.7.2 by Chris Pedrick:-

The User Agent Switcher extension adds a menu and a toolbar button to switch the user agent of the browser.
——————————————————
13.  CookieSafe 0.3.5 by Ron Beckman:-

This extension will allow you to easily control cookie permissions. It will appear on your statusbar. Just click on the icon to allow, block, or temporarily allow the site to set cookies. You can also view or clear the cookies and exceptions by.
——————————————————

There are many more but these are few that I think that every learning or expert guyz should have added in their Firefox. I believe Firefox is truly better then Internet Explorer, but it wouldn’t make any difference unless you use the features of firefox.
